Title: Secrets of the Sun

Run Time: 54 min

Cost: Free if streamed through PBS website: Secrets of the Sun
Highlights:
  • Satellite info about what the sun looks like at different temperatures
  • Discussion of why photons take thousands of years to leave the core
  • Explains twisting magnetic field of the sun
  • Discusses the answer to the question: How is the sun like a lava lamp?
  • Aurora Borealis
I thought this would be more of an Earth Science type of documentary, but I liked the section where they show the data from new satellites which can display emissions from the sun at different temperatures. For example, at some temperatures things are visible while invisible to the naked eye at other temperatures.

Closed Captioning: No, if streamed through PBS.
